Ann Jillian was born Ann Jura Nauseda on January 29, 1950 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the daughter of Lithuanian war refugees. Her family moved to the Los Angeles area when she was six so Ann and brother Ben would grow up surrounded by show business.

She made her film debut as Bo Peep in 1961's Babes in Toyland and the next year portrayed "Dainty June" in Gypsy. Producer Mervyn LeRoy predicted big things for Ann.

She played Millie Ballard on "Hazel" and then quit the biz for three years to study psychology in college. She paid her college tuition by working in a department store.

She returned to performing as half of a successful singing act, [Debra Shulman was her partner], which opened for such stars as Robert Goulet.

In 1979 Ann was a huge hit on Broadway in Sugar Babies with Mickey Rooney and Ann Miller.

She went on to star as Cassie Cranston on TV's "It's a Living" and in numerous telefilms, most notably "Mae West" [1982], for which she earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, and "Ellis Island" [1984], another Emmy nomination.

At the age of 35 she discovered she had breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy. With the love and support of her husband, former policeman and now manager, Andy Murcia, other family, and friends, she battled the disease courageously and successfully. Ann has become a symbol of hope and inspiration to cancer victims and their families. She's a marvelous motivational speaker and tireless supporter of many charities.

Ann portrayed herself in 1988's "The Ann Jillian Story" and earned another Emmy nomination and won a Golden Globe for her performance.

She's starred in two other TV series besides "It's a Living", 1983's "Jennifer Slept Here", and 1989's "Ann Jillian."

She gave birth to her first child, a son, Andrew Joseph Nauseda H. Murcia, on February 3, 1992.

In 1994 she recorded an excellent album of Steve Allen's songs titled "In The Middle Of Love" where she displays her terrific interpretive and vocal skills.

Ann has often performed with Bob Hope and continues to star in telefilms, concerts, as an inspirational speaker and humanitarian.
