I had the chance to see Gone with the Wind on the "big screen" when I was in my early teens and became an instant "Windie." I had already read Margaret Mitchell's Pulitzer Prize winner and was not disappointed when I saw the movie; I was in awe.

I remember well the anticipation I felt prior to the movie's television premiere in 1976 and its re-release to the theaters in true Technicolor and digital sound on June 26, 1998.

A whole new generation of "Windies" will be spawned with the re-release and Gone with the Wind collectibles will be everywhere which adds to the excitement for all of us "veterans."
