A Salute to Robert Wagner
A visitor to meredy.com asked me the following question. Who, in your opinion, is the most urbane man ever to grace a television screen? One name came to mind immediately - ROBERT WAGNER. With his flashing smile, twinkling blue eyes and smoother than smooth manner, he's been sending female hearts [ harts :-) ] aflutter for more than fifty years.
The first time I saw him on the "Sunday Afternoon Movie" when I was a child, the Brylcreem Kid brought tears to my eyes as the shell-shocked soldier in With a Song in My Heart, which starred the great Susan Hayward. The second half of the double feature that afternoon was Broken Lance, a wonderful Western with strong performances by the entire cast. It remains my favorite Robert Wagner film.
